Drying time refers to the time required for the preservative to fully penetrate the wood surface and dry. The ideal drying time ensures that the preservative provides maximum protection of the wood against moisture, mold, insects and UV rays. An insufficiently dried preservative can cause problems such as undesirable stickiness, discoloration or inadequate protection on the wood. Additionally, doing other treatments or using wood before the protector has dried completely may shorten the life of the application. Therefore, waiting for the preservative to dry completely is very important to preserve the durability and aesthetics of the wood.
